This is a strange time for all of us. With a lot of uncertainty at the moment it’s easy to feel stressed and anxious, and while writing provides a wonderful escape for many of us, it can also be complicated. When you’re staring at a blank document, trying to write and nothing’s coming out, it can be awful. I know I’ve experienced that a couple of times during lockdown, and it’s frustrating. You want to write, but your mind is blank, and it can be hard to draw inspiration when you’re stuck inside. So while we’re in lockdown, we should perhaps be looking to celebrate the small goals we reach with our writing. But how do we go about doing that? Well, for a start it helps to know what our goals actually are. Start simple- writing five hundred words a day, for any current project, for instance.
