Darkness falls: Angel & Spike #12 and Buffy #16 review

  With both the Angel & Spike and the Buffy comics ending on some pretty big reveals last issue, let’s take a dive back in and see where all this darkness is heading...   Angel and Spike issue 12 Picking up where the cliff hanger of last issue, we were thrown straight back into a possessed Gunn trying to attack Kate. Unfortunately, the cliff hanger wasn’t so much a sheer drop as a slight tumble down a small hill. It felt like a bit of a let-down, if I’m honest, with Angel and Spike showing up pretty soon to thwart possessed Gunn’s plans. While it’s not exactly a surprise that Gunn wasn’t too badly hurt (as I pointed out in my last review, they don’t exactly have many characters to replace him with, and Gunn is their only character of colour), it was frustrating it was fixed so early. Eliminating the threat so fast made the cliff hanger feel redundant, particularly as nobody got hurt. Moving forward from Gunn’s possession, Lilith reveals to Kate that she is apparently a rei
